Planning for your harvest

District 64 Logo

Was that winter?  Our weather has been so mild it is hard to believe that winter is almost over.  It is hard to believe that we’ve had winter at all.  We are now well into the second half of the Toastmasters year.  Traditionally, December and January are when we spend time perusing seed catalogues dreaming of the warmer days to come in spring and summer.  February is when we start sowing the seeds so we’ll have seedlings to plant in the spring and a harvest to reap in the fall.  Our short growing season makes it a challenge to grow those crops that require more time.  How often are we harvesting baskets of green tomatoes because there is a frost warning?

We have to plan our crops and start many plants indoors so we can enjoy the harvest.  Toastmasters is like that.  The year ends June 30, ready or not.  We have to plan as clubs to be successful.  We have to plan as individual members to reach the goals we have set for ourselves.  Where are you in your goals?  As clubs we should be reviewing our Club Success Plan.  As individual members we should be comparing where we are now compared with where we hoped to be.  There is still time to make the goals we set at the beginning of the year, but the clock is ticking.
